Got this yesterday, but I have to let April read it first so she can tell me if it’s safe for me to read. #comics #Superman #ManofSteel

Oh good, I was worried that Superman would not be as hot and modern as I was hoping. Those are the two words I want to hear when discussing Superman, so…
PS: It is pretty weird to see previews of the hot new movies of the summer featuring SUPERMAN, IRON MAN and THE GREAT GATSBY.

(Emphasis mine.)

A Thought on Uncanny Avengers #5 and Identity

If you follow comics, you may have heard about a scene in Uncanny Avengers #5 that made a lot of people uncomfortable, and about how poorly-chosen Rick Remender’s response was. I took a minute to tie the ideas being discussed back to the genesis of the superhero comic. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

50” by 50” Marvel Universe poster. Art by Ed Hannigan.

My mom bought this when we were at a comic shop in the mid 90s. I was a kid lucky enough to have a mom who loved comics. We never got around to getting it framed, because it is huge.
Now this poster still sits in its original tube, in a closet of the home I share with my wife. We are getting this motherfucker framed.

These current size comic book bags can store the adventures of all your favorite heroes! Like Professor Cable! Buzz Cut! The Shadow Gun! Gooey Iron Man?

Fearless Defenders, oh my God.
Valkyrie? Misty Knight? Danielle Moonstar? That’s amazing. I’ve never read any of Bunn’s work, but that’s one hell of a lineup. I’m really into this whole “let the New Mutants actually be a part of the Marvel universe” thing that’s happening now.

This might be the greatest single moment that came out of the Lee/Kirby X-Men run. Oh man. So good.

Here’s a little insanity for your late night.

It’s an X-Men coloring book.

Look, Cyclops is actually one of my favorite characters in comics, but he has never had that much fun in his life.

Solve Everything

I read the first four volumes of Jonathan Hickman’s gigantic and complicated (and great!) Fantastic Four run. This is my review.
