SUPERMAN #150

I KNEW IT

seanhowe:

Throughout this story in BLONDE PHANTOM #17, the Sub-Mariner is sporting a shirt with a giant “S.” Did this last for one issue only?

Is this from an Amalgam book?
(A Namor/Superman character would make a twisted kind of sense.)

Wonder Woman and sassy Batman. This image is based off of a series of tweets by Chris Sims that I included above. I thought it was funny, so I drew it.

Fan. Tastic.

This made my wife (an intense Batman fan) cry tears of laughter for a good few minutes. Batman’s crouching down hype-man-ness is what really did it.

A zillion Jack Kirby two-page spreads from the 70s, on Flickr!

Wow.

A thousand times yes.

75 years of history and all any movie makers can do is think fondly on on 1978-1980.

Superman meets Neil deGrasse Tyson.
DC’s New 52 does something that I like.

Black Adam vs. Namor, with guests, by Evan Shaner.
I never connected these two in my head, but it makes sense. Who else in all of comics is that silly and that oblivious to their own silliness? Even Doctor Doom kinda knows he’s ridiculous.

Of course, the best part is that Marvel and DC, the two biggest American comic companies, are still desperately trying to catch up to Archie. Keep reaching for the stars, guys! One day you’ll get there!

- Rob Bricken of Topless Robot, on Marvel and DC’s big publicity push around their gay characters.

From Topless Robot:

When Power Girl enters the DCnU later this year, she’s going to feel a little less of a draft. Above the PG’s redesigned outfit, which finally closes her infamous “boob window.” Now, first and foremost, the new costume is terrible. Every time I stop looking directly at it, I instantly forget what it looks like, which I would say is a bad sign.

Oh man. Even when they try to do better, DC just can’t make it work these days. Good job on closing that window, which had gone from kinda goofy to insanely ridiculous, but yeah that’s pretty ugly.
