WITH A PASSION: Non-iPhone users: What do you like about your smartphone?

  • What is the killer feature of Android, Windows Phone 7, your Samsung Galaxy, your Droid RAZR, your HTC EVO, your whatever?
Uh, that it [HTC Droid Incredible… I think the number is 2] works very well, and quickly, and that there’s pretty much nothing on it that would be difficult to get off of it and onto any other platform. Also that it’s mad thin and light, physically.
  • Do you have a good RSS reader/client/app?
Google Reader is CIVILIZATION and LIFE AS WE KNOW IT.
  • How do you put music on your smartphone?
By plugging it in like a USB drive, or using one of a million cloud services.
  • How do you get podcasts onto your smartphone?
See above. There are also some good apps for it.
  • Good gmail client/app?
    Android. So yes.
  • Good Dropbox integration?
    Seamless.
  • Do you get to assign apps to be the phone’s default email/calendar/etc. client, or are those defaults set/stuck like they are in iOS?
Haven’t tried much, but in my limited experience it seems to really depend on which Android phone you get, since some of them work markedly differently from each other.
  • ALSO: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, or Virgin Mobile?
    Verizon.

Bonus round: No effing .m4a files. Ever.

Not that I’m much of a tech evangelist. Do you. We all like different thigns.
